The name "SUNPIKA" is derived from the intention that "SUN-SUN, PIKA-PIKA" . The "SUN" is one in the sky, "PIKA" is a sound of shining, like famous Japanese character of "PIKA-CHU". We say "PikaPika" for shining brightness. Our Japanese Culture is under the SUN also under our national flag. We hope to extract the unique values weaved from the tradition, culture, spirit and mindset of "Japan" and the climate in the modern civilization, and aim to make one's life brilliant.

"SUNPIKA" の名前の由来
‍「サンサン・ピカピカ」英語の "SUN"「太陽」が「ピカピカ」輝くという意図から造作しています。「日」の「本（もと）」の国である「日本」の伝統や文化、精神や心づかい、そして風土から織りなす独特な価値観を、現代文明の中で抽出し、自らの暮らしを豊かに輝かしくしていくことを目指したいと願っています。

The starting point of the concept is a visual of pulling a "Futon" on the "Noh" stage for sleeping. The theme of SUNPIKA is "Dream Noh". The "Noh" performance, which is set in the dreams of travelers, was later called "Mugen Noh". The stage of SUNPIKA's room is continue the journey in a dream. We hope that you will heal your daily fatigue while imagining the natural scenery of the hundreds of years ago when "Noh" was born, and imagining an extraordinary experience.

"SUNPIKA TOKYO" のコンセプト
‍「能舞台の上に布団を引いて寝る」という一枚の架空の絵をコンセプトの出発点としています。SUNPIKAの宿のテーマは「夢幻能」にあります。旅人の夢の中が舞台とされる能の演目が、のちに「夢幻能」という名称で呼ばれるようになり、SUNPIKAの宿の舞台では、その旅の続きを夢の中で楽しんで頂きたいという発想をしています。能楽が誕生した数百年もの、いにしえの時代の自然が豊かだった原風景を想像し、ひときわ非日常的な体験を思い浮かべ、幻想の世界に癒してもらえたらと願っています。
