" Power Spots "

Tenso Shrine
This Shrine watching over this land for about 700 years ago, and the two ginkgo trees standing are a husband and wife rooted here for about 700 years. Even though the surrounding area has been burned in World War II, this couple tree have survived the crisis to this day. They are the real rooted begins. Please stand between them, and feel the roots underground. The one near the entrance is female and one in the back is the male tree.

■Tokyo Somei "SAKURA Onsen"
Located in 10 minutes walk from Sugamo station (one stop next to Otsuka station). Natural spring hot water. It will be very crowded at the weekend and holidays so it’s recommended for weekdays. Onsen and sauna are available and there’s a restaurant as well. People with tattoo marks are forbidden. Price 1,760yen. Rent a towel set is +385yen. Please check the opening date and hours. For taxi it will be around 1,000yen from SUNPIKA.
巣鴨駅から10分くらいのところにある温泉施設。週末や祝日はとても混むので、平日がおすすめ。

■Otsuka Kinen-yu
Local public bath, which offers 3 kinds of hot water and 1 cold water bath. For 1st floor's bath is about 500yen. The 2nd floor is Sauna floor. The building is a little bit old. 2 minutes from SUNPIKA.
1階が銭湯で、2階がサウナでそれぞれ料金が違う。

■Sauna New Otsuka
Very retro local sauna. It is on the 2nd floor of Otsuka Kinen-yu. There is a sauna and hot bath and cold water bath and some rest space. Sauna is about 1,000yen. 2 minutes from SUNPIKA.
サウナ施設は ¥1,000 程度。

Kimono Hazuki
Recycled and antique kimono. It's on the second floor.

Masumi Japanese craft paper
Showrooms and sell products made of Japanese craft paper, ”Kakejiku" a hanging scrolls arts, and more.

Sennarimonaka Sweets
A traditional Japanese sweets shop. A long-established store that originated in Otsuka.

Kashiwaya Sweets
It is one of the three famous "Manju". It is "thin skin "Manju" of Fukushima Prefecture, which is said to be the root of hot spring "Manju" . It is the only store in Tokyo.

Kurikoan "Taiyaki" Snack
Japanese famous snack "Taiyaki" it is a shape of bream fish. Ground floor of a building adjacent to Otsuka Station.

Freshly baked bread "SUN ROAD"
Very local and small freshly baked bakery with additive-free bread. 1 minute from SUNPIKA. Nice to take away for breakfast.
Opens 8AM-5PM only at weekdays.

Tacoyaki "Gindaco" Snack
Japanese famous snack "Tacoyaki" is a ball includes octopus. It is common to eat it with sauce and mayonnaise, but you can enjoy various toppings such as cheese and green onions. In addition to take-out, it is also possible to eat while drinking at the shop.

"Masutsune" Liquor Store
Many kinds of Japanese "Sake". They have a lot of choice that you want and has a lot of knowledge. How about choosing the sweetest Sake as a souvenir? Their English is not very good, but try to explain by using easy English and some translations, they are kind people. It will be only cash.

From the park to the end of Sunshine60 shopping mall is about 5minutes, through the Sunshine bus roundabout you can walk through to shopping mall, continues until the end of the Ikebukuro area. There is a big store of "MUJI" at the beginning of this side, and it's always not so crowded on weekdays.

" Town walk "

Sugamo Jizo-street / 巣鴨地蔵通り
Temple walking street. At 4th, 14th, 24th of the month which has 4th in the date, there are a flea market, various antiques and daily necessities are on sale. It is one of the most retro shopping street in Tokyo.
Take the Tram to "Koshinzuka Station", two stations away from " Otsuka tram station", and take a walk along “Jizo-dori” straight toward "JR Sugamo station". A walking route that returns from "Sugamo Station" to "Otsuka Station", one stop on the JR Yamanote Line.
